Background: A course project focusing solely on the detailing of a product. The project included studying an existing product and understanding its working, mechanism, and design. And redesigning it with an alternate mechanism enhancing the functionality of the product.

Keywords: Product detailing, section drawing, mechanism, prototyping.

Tools used: Ergonomics, Procreate, Solidworks, Blender, 3D Printing. 

Aim

The aim of the project was to design a paper stapler with alternate details.

Product study

Parts of a stapler were examined and studied to understand its working mechanism.

The working mechanism was studied and understood and an alternate mechanism was explored.
