Designing an ergonomic bullet-resistant vest for the commandos

Project type: Individual

Background: The project was done as part of the semester project (P2) focusing on redesigning an existing product. This project was chosen based on my experience living and observing different military zones with my father who served for more than 25 Years. This project is a tribute to all the soldiers who put their lives on the line every single day.

Tools used: Solidworks, Blender, Procreate, Laser cutting, 3D printing, Sewing machine.

Product Brief

  • Weight of the vest must be not more than 10 Kg

  • Vest should be adaptable to hot/cold climate

  • Arm movement should not be restricted

  • Slim fit

  • Modular - should fit all accessories when required

  • Should not make sound

  • Accessories should not move or make sound while running/jumping
